Meredith Edwards(1917-1999)

Meredith Edwards while working as a lab assistant did some amateur acting winning some cups. When he saw an advertisement about the setting up of the Welsh National Theatre he applied to join and spent 9 months training with them with them without pay then during the war went on an ENSA tour before serving in the army. in the Far East and Germay. After being demobbed he joined the Liverpool Playhouse the got an audition with and joined the Welsh National Theatre playing Col Pickering in Pygmalion then in the mid 50's joined the Old Vic. He has a daughter, Lisa who is a television director and 2 sons Ioan and Peter
