Rajkumar Santoshi wanted to make film on Asghar Wajahat's play "Jis Lahore Nahin Dekhya Woh Jamiya Nahin". Starring Sanjay Dutt and Salman Khan in Raj Kumar Santoshi's 'Jis Lahore Nahin Dekhya Woh Jamiya Nahin.'Sanjay Dutt and Vidya Balan as his wife. Salman Khan and Neil Nitin Mukesh were also signed. Art designer, Nitish Roy was building Lahore in Hyderabad now. Every lane, by-line, the transportation; the electric wires will be recreated. Extensive research on Lahore during the Partition era is done so that every detail is replicated. Later in 2012 the cast was changed and Pankaj Kapur,Manisha Koirala and Shahid Kapoor came into the project with Sanjay,Salman,Vidya, Neil all exiting. The film did not move any where. Then in 2014, Anil Kapoor,Armaan Jain were signed for the film. Again,the project just would not get off the ground. Then in 2015, Anil Kapoor exited the film and Randeep Hooda came into his role with Armaan Jain remaining in the film. The film was eventually called off due to unknown reasons.
